S. Pietro in Montorio, Rome

This church was built at the end of 15C by Ferdinand II of Spain and dedicate to S. Peter who, according to the legend, was crucified on this site. The façade and the interior are typical of the Renaissance. The church ha sa single nave and two chapels. Bernini designed one of the chapels in the Baroque period, his pupils were responsible for the sculptures.
