The plan of the church was inspired by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. It was built with a round shape in the late 4C and dedicate to S. Stephen. In the 16C, Pomarancio (1530-92), painted the walls with 34 frescoes reproducing scenes of martyrdom.
