Palazzo Spada was built in about 1540 commissioned by Cardinal Gerolamo Capo di Ferro. In this Palace the noble austerity of Renaissance has been replaced by fantastic decorations in Mannerist style. The Galleria Spada exhibits the Spada family collection of works mainly from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as some second and third century Roman sculptures.
