St. Sebastian Gate, Rome

The gate is the most spectacular of Rome, with its base of tall marble block supporting crenelated towers. It’s the Ancient Porta Appia which Aurelian (AD 271-275) constructed when he built his defensive wall. The gate houses a museum ( Museo delle Mura).
