LAST MINUTE HOTELS
The façade of the Porta Pia’s gate
was the last architectural design by Michelangelo, and it was built
between 1561 and 1564, requested by Pope Pius IV. The out façade
of the gate is a work of Benedetto Vespignani (1808-82) who, with
Giuseppe Valadier, was very active during the 19C.
