Fountain of Moses, Roma

The official name of the fountain is “Fontana dell’acqua Felice”, but it is generally called Fountain of Moses, because of the grotesque statue of Moses in the central niche. The structure was designed by Domenico Fontana, while the Moses was sculpted by Prospero Bresciano or Leonardo Sormani. The side of the structure illustrate water stories from the Old Testament.
