S. Lorenzo fuori Le Mura, Rome

S. Lorenzo was one of the most important church revered by the early Christian martyrs. in 576 Pope Pelagius III rebuilt great part of the first basilica. Very close to the church there was another church of the 5 century dedicated to the Virgin Mary, that has been annexed to S. Lorenzo, which now has assumed the aspect of a two level church.
