S. Ambrogio e Carlo al Corso, Rome

In 1471to the Lombard Community in Rome was given a small church in the Corso by Sixtus IV. They rebuilt it and dedicated it to S. Ambrogio who was bishop of Milan in the 4C. In 1610 they wanted to enlarge the building in honour of Charles Borromeo. Construction began in 1612. The dome is a work of Pietro da Cortona.
