The Palazzo Massimo alle Colonne is screened by a fine curved portico of Doric columns, designed by Baldassarre Peruzzi (1532-36). The original windows at the upper storeys of the façade herald the Mannerist style. The column standing in Piazza dei Massimi, may have been part of the Odeon of Domitian.
